SPA // Design Vision

The design of this spa is rooted in the principles of dynamic symmetry, guided by the Golden Ratio and expressed through a double Fibonacci spiral. This sacred geometry serves not only as an aesthetic foundation but also as a way to reflect the natural harmony of the surrounding environment.

The site is nestled on the banks of a serene river, offering a landscape rich with natural beauty and historical significance. Adjacent to the property is a restored historic watermill, whose ancient stone walls and gently turning waterwheel provide a sense of timeless character and connection to the past.

This unique context creates an opportunity to design a space that echoes the region’s heritage while introducing modern wellness architecture. The spa will blend natural materials and open-air elements, creating an immersive retreat that feels both rooted and contemporary.

Architecturally, the gentle contours of the land allow for organic integration of indoor and outdoor spaces, with framed views of the river, dappled light filtering through the stone integrated walls, and a spacial flow that invites movement and stillness in equal measure.

The masterplan invites the landscape into the built environment. The geometry derived from the Fibonacci sequence informs plan layout, facade rhythm, and spacial sequencing, creating zones of openness and intimacy that reflect the ebb and flow of the river itself.

Material selection and structural expression are site-responsive: local stone echoes the watermill’s palette; Gabions filled with locally sourced granite (A material to foster a sense of grounding, protection, and emotional balance, supporting resilience and energetic alignment while inviting stability and abundance into the space.) will be used as a permeable, insulating skin around the spa’s walls, offering thermal protection while harmonizing with the surrounding landscape. Their density varies to modulate light, creating a dynamic stone "wickerwork" that filters daylight in and lets interior light softly glow outward at night. The forms are soft yet structured, balancing organic curves with a disciplined proportional system.

The Vez Spa is envisioned as more than a wellness destination - it is a sanctuary that restores the senses, honors the land’s history and reflects the universal geometry of beauty found in nature.
